So, just for starters, as I feel my way to mastery of modern communication, here is a picture of what I can see from my front door. The bay is Porthenderson, so named by the local laird as he tried to cash in on the herring boom of the 1800s. For many generations this was the home of a family of boat builders, whose style of open fishing boat inspired my table. The hills in the back ground are at the north end of the Isle of Skye.
